Schindler, Anton: Mälzel's Metronom erster und zweiter Construction / mitgetheilt von A. Schindler. – 1856
Schindler erklärt, dass das erste Metronom von 1815, nach dem Beethoven seine Tempoangaben eingerichtet hatte, nur eine Skala von 50-160 aufwies. Das Nachfolgemodell war kleiner, so dass sich die Maßangaben nicht genau übertragen ließen.
